The firm was founded by CA. Narendra Khimji Maru in Mumbai, the financial capital of India in 1986.

Since inception, the firm had grown in a steady space. By 2012, JMR & Associates LLP had 5 Partners with each of Partners catering to diversified Areas of Practice.
